That they add to each other. For example, runes don't stack. So if you have 2 minor runes in healing prayers, you won't have +2 healpray, just +1. Same thing with vigors, if you have 2 superior vigors it's the same as just having 1.

If things DO stack, then that would mean Ascalon Armor (reduces dmg from attacks) + an absorption rune would give you more protection than just the armor or rune by itself.

To clarify: Knight's armor is the same as Ascalon armor, just that they look different. So for stacking purposes, they don't stack with other armor pieces; i.e. Knight's doesn't stack with Ascalon, or with other Knight's.

Knight's/Ascalon does stack with Absorption runes. As melbo said, runes don't stack with each other though, so only the strongest Absorption rune you have on will have an effect.

In addition, Shields with -1/-2/-3 also stack onto the armor and runes. I don't know if the -1/-2/-3 takes effect from any side or only from the front, though.

EDIT: Ooh, found the old post that has everything listed out in it; I edited it for a bit more clarity and removal of random boldings.

A question...are absorption runes worthwhile, and is it only at a certain level (i.e. minor vigors are practically worthless)? I've never used them, but I have an ascalon cuirass and rest gladiators, so any added protection would be nice.

And I think someone did a 'study' on shields, and found they only protect the front 1/3 of your body. I can't remember what forum it was from.

I know the armor only applies to the front, but what about the damage absorption while enchanted/in stance/hexed? How does the absorption on shields work?

Does the Knight Helm reduce damage as other Knight Armor Piece? The description of Knight Helm doesn't include "Reduce Damage" text though.

No, all platemail would only have the rune damage reduction, with the knights boots and the rune, you would get both reductions (the boots and the rune), since, as said before, they stack. Notabley, you get both reductions irrespective of which body part is hit, because the Knights armour effect is global, not local, rendering a full set pointless.
